MAHS-MDV-COL-003-O-0130

Waqf document by Dhoshunge Beykalunn VIII copied from older documents written by Al-Ghāzī Ḥusayn Velaanaakileygefaanu. It states that Dhoshunge Beykalunn VIII had asked people to donate to the Hukuru Miskiyy in Malé, but that when the wazir and the bandheyrinn discussed the matter it was concluded that there was nothing remaining in FuraMalé that could be endowed to the mosque except four kottey veyvashu cowrie shells (rasboli) collected by the people of Rinboodhoo and which could not be used for any other purpose than to donate them to a mosque. Witness to this decision were listed as: Maabandeyri, ‘Alī Velaanaage's son, ‘Alī Hakuraavethi, Rannabandeyri's son, Ali, Ḥasan Faamuladheyrige's son, Muḥammad, Hakuraavethi's son and Muḥammad Ḥasan, Ranahamaadhi's son.
