Opportunities

The Maritime Asia Heritage Survey (MAHS) is a new four-year project to locate and document critically endangered heritage sites, structures, objects, and manuscripts across four countries in Maritime Southern Asia: Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Maldives.

Our main focus is producing digital documentation using cutting-edge technologies to produce an open-access on-line database to securely archive records of the diverse and distinctive heritage of the region, which currently faces compound environmental and human threats to its preservation.

The project is supported by the Arcadia Fund and based at the Kyoto University’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies.
