Maldives National Museum, Malé

The Maldives National Museum holds a large collection of objects spanning centuries of the history of the islands, from Buddhist religious images, Islamic manuscripts, and maps to royal regalia and traditional objects of everyday use. The Museum Building in Malé houses the national office for the work of the Maritime Asia Heritage Survey in the country. In collaboration with the Museum, the MAHS has begun the work of cataloguing and photographing highlights from their collection, and producing photogrammetric 3D models of select pieces that are made available through our project website.
