  1. Scope and Statement of Purpose

The Maritime Asia Heritage Survey Archive was created as a resource for scholars, students, heritage management professionals, government agencies, NGOs and local communities. The dataset includes documentation produced by the MAHS Field Teams in Indonesia, Thailand, and the Maldives, digital assets produced by the MAHS Digital Heritage Lab at the Kyoto University Center for Southeast Asian Studies, and special collection datasets provided by project partners for integration into a consolidated online archive.

  1. Rights and Ownership

All MAHS digital documentation is available open-access, and any use of it should acknowledge the project website as its source.

  1. Access and Permissions

The MAHS Archive is open-access, and its data may be downloaded, copied, and redistributed for non-commercial purposes as long as its source is properly acknowledged. Any use of the data requires that appropriate credit be given and indicate any changes that may have been made by a user under the terms of Creative Commons license CC BY-NC-ND 4.0

  1. Artificial Intelligence

MAHS data may not be used for, in the development of, or as inputs to generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs.

The MAHS takes the greatest possible care to ensure the correctness, completeness and timeliness of the information on its websites but it may contain inaccuracies and omissions and should not be relied upon or used as the sole basis for making decisions without consulting other sources.
