This sandbar emerged from the sea as the nearby island was submerged over recent years.
In the course of our survey work, the MAHS also uses drones to produce orthophotomaps of uninhabited islands in Maldives that can be used as baseline measurements to monitor changes in coastlines due the effects of climate change and other environmental factors.
Our archive of oral history interview videos presents a range of local perspectives on the meanings and contemporary relevance of tangible heritage sites documented by the MAHS field teams in each of the countries where we work.
Each interviewee has given signed consent authorizing the online publication of the interview. The MAHS oral history recordings can also be viewed on the project’s YouTube channel
