Fikri Abdul is a Database Officer for the Maritime Asia Heritage Survey and a Program-Specific Researcher at the Kyoto University Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS).
He earned a Postgraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Adelaide, Australia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Libera Università di Bolzano, Italy.
Since 2017, he has worked in humanitarian aid as an IT specialist and programmer for United Nations agencies such as IOM, UNICEF in Indonesia, with over a decade of experience in the field. His interests include software development, data processing, big data, and process automation.
In 2024, he joined the Maldives Heritage Survey, contributing his data processing and database management expertise to the expanded Maritime Asia Heritage Survey.
