Japanese National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku)

Japan’s National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku) holds rich collections of material culture sourced from across the globe, and supports and active program of cultural anthropological and ethnological research. Its holdings include pieces collected in the Maldives representing traditional objects that were in everyday use in the country through the first half of the twentieth century. In partnership with Minpaku, the MAHS has integrated records of these objects into our open-access online database.
