The Aliph project in Ambon is a collaborative initiative dedicated to preserving ancient carpentry traditions by creating the Gallery Kaitetu. This permanent gallery, which hosts an exhibition space and training centre is located next to the historic Wapauwe Mosque in the village of Kaitetu, Ambon (Maluku). The Gallery Kaitetu project seeks to revitalize traditional woodworking techniques and related skills, offering Southeast Asia’s first hands-on educational program focused on Islamic heritage preservation.
